If you're talking about the one-lane-in-each-direction with a centre left turn lane and cycling lanes on each side, I think it works pretty well. I drive down Nanaimo every so often and no longer have to deal with people blocking the traffic lane to turn left or people turning right that are too inconsiderate to pull out of the travel lane. The only real choke points are northbound past 1st Avenue and southbound past Hastings where two lanes merge into one - and most people now seem to have figured out how to do that reasonably smoothly.

I do agree that the couple of blocks of north of Hastings seem pretty useless, though.

We're talking about the West End here. The whole area is effectively traffic calmed and nobody drives quickly, pedestrians are everywhere.

E-bikes can certainly get the F*** off of the sidewalks in this area.

I see these same clowns around Broadway and Cambie doing the same shit on busy sidewalks. They don't go slowly either. It's clear they have no regard for people walking.

In my experience the biking on sidewalks is usually on the arterials like Davie and Denman rather than the quiter streets.

There's a grain of truth in that bikes are short-range commuting options which are bound to clash with long-range traffic.

Of course, since it's Doug Ford, that grain is quickly buried under an avalanche of BS.

The Jericho Pier is so short it's probably okay for a $1 million band aid but seems like overkill for $25 million. They are better off building a pier with that kind of budget somewhere that is more accessible to the public in Kitsilano or English Bay.

Vanier Park could use a new attraction, that's for sure. Add a couple of cafes and a sea lion shelter while they're at it.

Here’s a thought, maybe the DoorDouches can use those quieter streets to deliver once they pick up whatever some couch potato is too lazy to go and pick up.

Yeah, good that they avoided the usual - "we need to do it right" but it's too expensive, so we won't do anything.
Half the time it seems like self-imposed requirements act as barriers to projects getting built.

Yeah, that's also why the new Aquabus docks are much larger than they used to be with have several switchbacks (near Aquatic Centre and SE False Creek).
