Cool! I'd love to plant a couple paw paw trees but I fear I don't have enough space in my small yard.

Some things that are still going though.

Not food but no surprise here. Aster, a staple of autumn.

Goji berries (not native to NA)

Everbearing strawberries have been going strong since June

Blurry photo but some unripened blackberries

Dwarf apple tree is doing well. These could be picked now

Cherry tomatoes will go until there's a frost

As for the weather. Day started out gloomy with fog but is clear and sunny now.

You also need two for fruit. On the other hand, they require zero care, as opposed to most other fruit trees. I'll end up with over 60 pawpaws this year from two small 6-7 foot trees

23C with a humidex of 25 and sunny. Saw some cumulus clouds today for the first time in maybe 3 weeks. It's been cirrus clouds a couple of days or completely clear blue sky (95% of the time).

Low of 13C this morning. You can feel the chill in the air in the morning.

The warmspot was Windsor, ON at 28.6C

Warmest low was Point Petre, ON at 19.7C

16C and rainy earlier in the afternoon turned to just cloud cover later. A little back to reality... first rain we've had in 15 days.

Low of 14C this morning.

The warmspot was Osoyoos, BC at 28.6C.

Warmest low was Port Colborne, ON at 19.0C.

Yesterday was the first comfortable day to do outdoor activities since early July, it was amazing! High of 28, low of 21. It was sunny, with a nice breeze, and not too humid.

I was actually able to walk around the zoo with my family without soaking my under shirt with sweat!

For anyone ever wanting to travel to Japan, the best time is from now (late September) to the end of November.

Definitely cool in the morning now on the way to work.

I've noticed that some maple trees have started to change colour. This is quite a bit early for them, they usually start turning in mid-October. Noticed that a lot of the horse chestnuts have changed colour too. Not sure if the dry and warm weather for most of the summer have stressed them out or not.

East Asia is absolutely miserable in the summer.

I've successfully avoided visiting in the summer since leaving in 2021. Both times I've gone back to Taiwan, it was in the late fall/winter, and it was glorious. We still got a couple of low 30s days in Southern Taiwan though.

It looks like the only time we can visit next year is in May/June. It's a furnace in Taiwan by late spring, so I'm not looking forward to it.

Unfortunately I'm mostly stuck indoors the entire time so not really able to enjoy it.

Today is 33 again.

Looks like tomorrow is going to be 22 in KW when I had back.

Checking in the "community" section, it says he was "active" today (meaning he at least logged in and looked at some posts). He has not posted however in a couple of weeks.

Dang, that sucks. Bring plenty of changes of clothes! I just feel so uncomfortable sweating when doing absolutely nothing… May is still nice here in Japan, June is when things start to go sour. Hokkaido might be the only populated place in East Asia that actually has a “nice” summer. Still decently hot, but not overbearing.
