Yeah, people ARE desperate right now and have to compromise and pay way more than they'd wish. Unfortunately that means they can't support the downtown economy after spending 2/3 income on rent.
We need many more buildings to compete against legacy landlords who've been coasting for decades on minimal effort and are charging $1900 for 2 bedrooms, but they can't all be bachelor and 1 bedroom units that people have to leave to get a 2 bedroom home (let alone 3). It's a conundrum (more HAF please).
It's such a shame The Keg developer couldn't continue with the original design.
