That conversation about Evelyn Nesbit was fascinating. It was so interesting to hear someone that knew her speak of her life in her last years. Samson De Brier was not born when Evelyn's husband, Harry Thaw, shot and killed Sanford White at the rooftop theater of Madison Square Garden.
What an era, filled with glamour and scandal, and as Lillian Roth's headstone reminds us, "As bad as it was it was good."
There was account of Ms. Nesbit teaching art for some period at Grant Beach Art Academy on Figueroa on property on second lot north of Temple-- Paining/drawing, sculpture, ceramics and textiles were all produced here. Some living quarters were available to some staff. Sort of a collective.

The two views above have been posted, but i think this was taken by someone from our office. The next 3 are the mysteries for me, any help would be great. Along with the 2 above, these were developed together (sa,e date codes on the slides) and seem like they we're part of a slide show to show how Scouting can work in any community.
What will people thing [sic] of next? In a recent magazine article a new colossal sundae which is called Moron's Ecstasy, was pictured and described.
It should be almost as powerful as the atomic bomb. The only difference is, that after one eats it (you do eat it), you won’t explode or will you? There isn't any uranium, but among other things in the concoction are eight flavors of ice cream, three different syrups and lots of other things make up this tantalizing feast. The whole dish stands about a foot high.
Some of our more courageous students are going to try it as soon as we rest up from June sixth. We wish these morons the best of luck and a happy recovery by September first.

Names in YELLOW, I'm not 100% sure. BLUE FACES, I recognize, but can't remember their names. GREEN FACES... I have no idea.

Looking at that photo with the gasometers, it's hard to believe they were ever a thing.
Have we ever heard or read of any issue with them? Could they withstand earthquakes?
Were they guarded?
