It feels overkill to me, the policy seems to be to remove off-topic posts, then half a page of on-topic posts that might have provoked the off-topic posts. I think that's a bit too trigger happy, personally.

Totally agree.
Especially your second point, and the scorched earth approach to removing stuff that wasn't even "flame-war"-ey or provocative, much less even contentious, and as possibly instead might even have been informative.

But just because it's tangentially connected to the "off-topic" stuff (however they define it), it's gotta go too.

But hey, what can you do?

Shape has submitted rezoning applications for towers 7, 8, and 9.

Tower 7 is a resubmission as it had already been submitted and received final adoption in April.

a post on reddit says that the old Zellers location is being demolished between June 17 and July 8 during overnight hours.

This one has taken quite the time to start rising. Should be looking a lot more interesting by end of the year.

Daily Hive notes that London Drugs is moving to a smaller space next to LL Bean next Spring (where Marvels used to be).

The leasing brochure has Tower 5/6 with 2027 and 2028 completions.

And with that, what little remains of the old Brentwood Mall is effectively dead.

The Daily Hive story basically confirms the switch to demolishing the mall instead of renovating it.

They probably stayed there as long as they could because of the free parking availability.

Yeah, why isn’t there free parking in the new section. Something like the 1st hour free

I think some places like Cinexplex/RecRoom were providing some free parking for customers but not sure if they took that away. Some guy was on Reddit saying provincial rules prevent the mall from charging in the old lots but I've never heard of anything like that before. I think Metrotown converted one of their lots to pay parking..

That was Concord Pacific charging for their lots.

Curious whether Oakridge might charge for parking?

Arbutus Village Safeway has free underground parking. No validation required (for now).
