The contractors have blasted quite a bit of rocks too.
Back in winter, I could hear occasional blasting during work.

That hill has some complex geology. You can see one type of rock on top another. (It's called a geological unconformity.) That's why the contractors have to bench the upper layer of rock cut.
There's another development on the other side of the hill facing Centrum. The rocks there are quite weathered. The water mark is visible on the rocks.

This will be the best project in the arena, hands down.

Can't wait for the next two towers to go up.
This area in Kanata is certainly providing Ottawa much needed housing during a housing crisis.

I hope to see some more future development on the unused portions of parking lots throughout the centrum as well. There are definitely sections (like around the Best Buy and old Future shop) which are chronically empty and can be better used for housing.

How the city can justify sending LRT out to those ridiculous locations in the East and South end rather than extending 2 stops to Eagleson and the Centrum I have no idea....

This has got to be one of the densest neighbourhoods outside of the Greenbelt and it continues to grow.

The fact that Kanata North as the largest employment centre outside of downtown does not have LRT is also beyond insanity.

The City has a rich history of ignoring areas quickly densifying on the false premise of future transit (Carling, Baseline) or already dense (Vanier) while serving areas with little to know ridership potential.
