Also, the Broadway/UBC SkyTrain's going ahead in part because the entire corridor is a destination - even Greektown gets a lot of traffic, as will Jericho.
Not so with 41st/49th: there's five big ones at Metrotown, Langara, Oakridge, Kerrisdale and UBC, but the other 90% is just detached homes and infill. That's going to push it a little further down the list.
