it will still never happen. TransLink is legally the only entity allowed to run transit in the region, youre not allowed to compete with them. unless that changes, CoV cant run their own. and TransLink has no interest in the streetcar idea. and i doubt the other cities would be cool with funding a CoV thing only. Canada Line barely survived because if only went to 2 cities.

False Creek Ferries are a private operation while the Q to Q is a municipal service, neither directly compete with a Translink service so they are allowed.

Noticed lot of scanning and drilling work going on around the ALR sections, pretty much the entire length of Fraser Highway in that section and then some.

Good to know. Thanks. About 100m difference shorter but you'd also be saving the travel time between the stations.

Maybe 100m more walking would be good if you are having an all you can eat, though.

For now... They're adding bike and walking paths along the Skytrain, plus Willowbrook and some of the neighbouring properties are being redeveloped. I'll be very surprised if they don't try to make the area more walkable.

walking from the casino (where the station is) to the Olive Garden would be a pain, there are train tracks to deal with and they have a lot of trains, and lots of streets are dead ends or fenced off because of the tracks. Willowbrook would seem much easier, the bypass has no pedestrian infastructure that I've ever noticed though.

From the end of the line it looks like one could walk a couple blocks down to Fraser Highway, west on Fraser Highway, north on 200th, waiting for trains at the tracks, of course. Many trains. But end goal is worth it. Sidewalks all this way, I think.. just going by Google street view.

From Willowbrook, ya pretty dicey indeed. Cutting through the mall parking lots would be much better, I'd say. If the mall was open you could go through it or at least on the sidewalk around it, over to 200th.

Change coming to Langley? 200m, 400m and 800m station development tiers?

That will be a shock for an area that doesn't even have sidewewalks currently.

I wonder how land prices are going in the three tiers around the stations (200m, 400m, 800m). Anyone a realtor or access to mls?

Seems like all the stations are fenced off with excavation and surveying taking place. Also several sections of Fraser Highway are single laned with various pieces of equipment sitting around
