We have posters who know much more about tunneling, but my understanding is that the machines are shipped back to Germany where they get dismantled, and parts that can be reused are refurbished for future projects.

Phyllis only hit Cypress a few weeks ago and already the spoils belt is gone.

All they have to do is take down the harness that kept it up and the tunnel is ready for laying of rail and electrification.

Elsie is due to pop in a week or so and then the whole project is on the downhill slope.

There will only be a few more images possible as they close up the stations. Then the whole project finishes "out of sight".

By and large, this project has been conducted professionally.

Question for you all.

At Arbutus station, those large steel rings that were installed on the east tunnel entrances, are they there as the "anchor" end of the pressure vessel that receives the TBMs?

It might be support for the wall that they also installed in all the previous station pits.

Yeah I've been following the B1M for years and I don't think they've ever profiled any Vancouver projects before.

Was already surprised when they had profiled LNG Canada a few months ago up in Prince Rupert area

I think that's just over-exposed asphalt with a wet strip down the middle making it look like snow.
