It's an interesting design overall. I love the boxes and public realm aspect. Should be a good addition visually, but also as a people space.

It's just the mesh, the colour in particular, that raises some eyebrows. The old Cliff Plant blended in pretty seamlessly with the limestone. This may stand our like a sore thumb.

It's a great project. Nice new public space.
My only gripe with it is the parking lot underneath. The "veil" might look ugly if it ends 5 meters above the ground to make room for the loading bays.

Well, it's unique..visitors will definitely be attracted to see what it is. It will offer great views of Squawking Seagull island and the Shitpaper Plant.

Hadn't even noticed. Hopefully, the tree canopy will hide the base.

But yes, disappointing to see so much surface parking remain.

More public areas to hang out in? Sign me up.

Having not followed this one too closely, are the stairs and associated viewing areas public access too?

Yes, should be publicly accessible. The Feds made it a point to build publicly accessible/public realm improvements around the renovated/rebuilt heating and cooling plants. These stairs, along with the elevator(s) will add excellent new connectivity between the river pathway and the top of the escarpment.

Mississauga might have Marilyn Monroe's body, but Ottawa's got her skirt.

That looks cool. Should be a pretty great addition to the Downtown. Great spot for tourists and locals alike. Please give us Tavern on the Escarpment or Tavern by the Supreme Court or something.

That's to draw your eye away from the perforated curtain thing on the other side.

Don't diss the bird islands. Commanda Bridge visitors just upstream are fascinated by the gulls and cormorants.

The War Museum already looks like the Jawas' transport vehicle anyway.

The Stanley A. Milner Library in Edmonton is another great example of Jawa Architecture.

I very much want to steal this phrase, and probably will.

Your IP lawyer can contact mine after the fact.
