We walk by there frequently and have been curious what it would become. You can see through the door now, and they have changed it quite dramatically.

So happy it is being repurposed again and not torn down! I also like they still reference the firehall in new name.

Any links to the new place?

That is a pretty good chunk of change! We did like that outdoor upper deck, so I hope they keep or update that, too!

The Hose used to have a $10 burger, fries, and a pint special on Mondays. I used to go there every week with three buddies to eat, drink, and play crokinole. I'll miss you, Hose

It was getting pretty run down inside, but it did have that local bar ambiance....

I am just relieved that this great building and space is going to be active again! Hopefully not to 'high end' that they price themselves out of being a fave watering hole....

Businesses and non-profit organizations regularly open and move in Saskatoon. Today the StarPhoenix talks to Chris Chang, who recently opened IHAday Tea & Bun House with his wife Felicity Lin in the Lawson Heights area of Saskatoon.

Chris and Felicity came to Canada seven years ago from Taiwan, and after years of operating a seasonal ice cream store in Elbow they decided to open their own bakery and bubble tea house. IHAday allows them to bring a wide range of Taiwanese-style baking to Saskatoon, as well as a huge selection of bubble tea, with ingredients imported from their native country through the IHAday franchise owner in Regina.

I can attest to this being very good pizza! I live in the area and it has become a new favourite. I have not tried any pasta dishes yet, but I have seen them served to others and they look really good, too!

Loqui appears to be nearly ready to open and it looks great. They have some great photos posted here:

It sounds like it's run by the son of the couple who have run Taste Buds on Lorne, with his parents backing him.

Find stunning local artwork, unique grab-and-go concept at Saskatoon's NightMarketYXE

The downtown venue with a fun Saskatchewan vibe is the only space in Canada that has a licence for grab-and-go style service.

Went to 3 Hall Public House (formerly House and Hydrant) last night with some friends. It is a really nice reno and good vibe in there. Prices are probably on par with other establishments in Broadway area, and food and service were good. Looking forward to enjoying their deck when the warm weather arrives.

We are going to be in Saskatoon for a tournament in July.
Any suggestions on where we shall go for food and drinks with the team (14 and 15 year olds) and where shall just the parents go on their own?
We liked the Cathedral Social Hall and the Prairie Sun Brewery when we were in town in December.

Kids/teens like Fuddruckers on 8th Street. It is a build your own burger kind of place. It can be busy, but seems to be popular with teens.

The 2 restaurants you listed are good choices for adults. Does it matter what part of city? Where will most of you be staying??
