But should we continue to socialize the cost of roads and not other forms of transportation. Like rail for example? Maybe put Federal Dollars for short-lines and subsidize CP and CN expansion instead?

We are a province that spends huge amounts of money trying to maintain highways built for a much different spread of population. It might not be sustainable to just keep building more and more roads. It is a long term issue that no one wants to talk about, and frankly I am glad someone had the courage to bring it up.

I am not even sure if it is the right way to go, but again, I am really glad someone is starting the discussion. However, it seems like not many people want to talk about it yet.

Maybe. Before we had big trucks every town had a rail line. In fact every warehouse in Regina had a siding. I have seen the old maps.

City looking to rezone land near the refinery and dump from holding to heavy industrial. No plans to build anything there at this time.

So is that sandwiched between the refinery and the future Viterra crushing plant or is the AGT FCL biodiesel plant to be in that space?

It must be going in there somewhere as the zoning area seems to go right up to where Viterra's land parcels start.

Looks to be some activity at the vacant home located on the double lot on the NW corner of 14th and Rae in Cathedral. SaskEnergy truck and some machinery in the back lot today. Deck came down a couple months ago, and land appears to be getting prepped for development. expecting to hear something about the future of this lot this spring

I can't imagine what it'll be like for the residents of the Uplands Neighborhood. They are already super close to the Co-op refinery

That's a pretty nice house. I don't see it being demoed. Note there is no garage. That would be my guess. You cant build a garage over a gas line, so they may be moving the line.

Have you seen the condition of the inside/foundation? The foundation is so caved in inside that it can’t be saved economically. I was originally hoping to purchase this in spring 2022 but the foundation was a nightmare.

The house was already split up into two units so it’s fair to expect that this has something to do with densification

The house was sold sometime summer/fall in 2023 for lot value. The property was secured after it was sold and no further work on the house itself has been done since then

OK did not know any of that. Corners are always preferred for multi family.

We've been trying to guess what's going in at Albert St and Fourth Ave North, directly north of Wendy's. It's gone up fast and might open sooner than the Klein's at Broad and 1st Ave N at this rate

Assuming it's a gas station?

Is that a double lot? Looks to be a fair amount of space on the deck side of the house to the back alley. Definitely looks like a good candidate for a denser project.

There's a load of things being planned for those lands by FCL. Some of that, if not all of it, is public info. See what I can find.
