Not hard to use the ignore list. I only saw s211's post because he was quoted.

Honestly not a bad looking 6 storey low rise apartment. Building a few more of those scattered throughout the warehouse district, throw in some apartment towers here and there and call it a day.

Ya that's a pretty snug courtyard, but I guess vacancy and rents will command who will want to live there.
One question... is that NOT commercial on 102nd?

That's what I mean. Just would seem like an odd level 1 floorplate to have residential facing 102 and commercial on 108. As I can see from this image, that is.

Overall nothing wrong with the building. Likely a good inexpensive building.

Inexpensive? Without question. Strip off the bit of rather strange gingerbread and this is about as cheap a massing as you could imagine in a poor location and configuration for it.

Good? Based on what? The tacked on offset two different sizes of something gingerbread projecting from the multi-coloured stucco intended to evoke some sort of faux wood incorporating a few asymetrical projecting boxes with some of the balcony soffits painted in different colours? The rather strange massing from a livability/view corridor perspective? The promise of more of the same immediately to the south? The lack of exterior amenity space (I know the warehouse district park won't be that far one day but that's a different amenity level than having somewhere to send your kid's to play without leaving your building or being able to have a barbeque).

Kudos for the attempt I suppose but I think this one's a failure as currently presented.

The people who will (skewer) you for disliking this are the same ones who constantly lower the bar. Yeah...it's good enough lol. Its getting old in Edmonton. To me this is a shitcicle of a building in the wrong location.

"Good" as in a home for people to live in and hopefully be reasonably affordable, centrally. Looks like the 121 West Apartments with a better main floor.

Or like the new apartments on 105 Ave. Looks like an normal apartment building to me.

If there is a market for something like... Belgravia Square in the area, then I assume that will get built in good time.

Being negative of not, S211 has a point. Who would want to live on the inside of that building? I used to live across the street in fact about 20 years ago ( Rail town ) across from Save-on lol.

Anyone have any specifics regarding with what's being planned for Whitemud Crossing? I see on the zoning placard that they want to have 2 story commercial and a six story hotel. How is the layout of that supposed to work/look? Just really curious because I live right next to it.

Housing Action Plan money coming today... ~$176 mil or something.

Apparently no provincial representatives expected to be there.
