That remains true in the revised application, with one notable change: reduced heights for the towers. Originally, the East Tower was to be 47 storeys while the West Tower was to be 19 storeys.

City staff say the two towers are now planned to be 45 storeys and 17 storeys, although architectural plans indicate the East Tower will be 42 storeys. STOREYS reached out to the SCDC for clarification on Friday, but has not received a response.
Quote:
In total, there is now expected to be approximately 1,200,000 sq. ft of office space, 330,000 sq. ft of institutional space, and 24,000 sq. ft of commercial retail space across phase one and phase two.

Originally, the taller East Tower was to be constructed first, but the City says the SCDC has confirmed that the plan is now for the shorter West Tower to be constructed in phase one. No explanations were given, but the decision may reflect the uncertainty around the office market in Metro Vancouver and hesitancy among developers to build new office towers.

Overall, the Centre Block project is expected to unfold across four total phases. Following these first two phases, a 20-storey building is planned for phase three, followed by an 11-storey building in phase four, both of which were also originally designated as office and institutional spaces.

So towers shorter but overall more space. Kinda makes sense. We'll see if it gets dropped even more. If they're shaving just floors off and height remains samish per floor, 42 storeys would put it around 660 feet. Still respectable for the region. It would be nice if it were 45 but the image shows 42 and the cross section makes it seem like there is an additional "3" floors of just glass top for the tower so City staff could be saying "45" meaning height but it is actually 42 floors total.

We'll see I guess. I don't believe anything until there is a BP and they start digging. Until then everything is open to delay/reimagining. I mean how is that office tower at the corner of KGB and 100th on the site of the old Best Buy going eh?

Or that education center tower..

Concepts are great but not worth a lot until they're built.

Yeah don’t hold your breath. By the time the second phase actually gets built who knows what it’ll be.

That's a nice location, it's going to be just across the street from the future Green Timbers station. The tower is definitely going to stand out at that spot.

It's expected to go on sale in 'early 2024.' Juno had their opening today and there was over 1000 requests sent in.

Some movement on two empty lots, will do great to change the area. The first one will be across from Tien Sher's Whalley Station tower, while the second will be above this: https://storeys.com/surrey-gateway-station-13425-13455-107a-avenue-holyside-sadhu-sterling-towers/

"above" meaning "north of" rather than "on top of the podium of".

Yea that's what I meant Unfortunately that development is owned by a developer with no highrise experience so who knows when it will move forward.

Here is a good picture with all the activity going on in the area.

Yes, I believe they will be using the car dealership currently on the site as their presentation centre.

This developer does not have much experience, here is a previous building they built which looks very nice to me.

I love that building.
Too bad it's buried away in a place like White Rock where people don't get to see it much.

The hive of activity at 104th and 132nd continues...took this pic today with Sequoia excavation progressing in the foreground, the BC Housing building on the corner, and Pura in the background on 105th:

It also looks like there is excavation happening just south of Pura. Does that mean phase 1 of application 18-0443 is starting? Not sure the project name.
