^ I recall years ago WMU announcing its intention to demolish all (3) of the Valley dorm complexes. Then it just went quiet. I think maybe a combination of less enrollment, along with focusing more time and capital on the south neighborhood reimagining, might have both played a part. So, this isn't a total shock, it just makes me wonder how soon until Valley 1 & Valley 2 also will be demolished. WMU is methodically erasing its
sprawlier, mid-century past, in favor of denser, more-concentrated mixed-use districts that are less auto-centric. It's like its own little mini-city.
