i walk/bike down the AT path a couple times a week so i get a more in-depth view i guess!

Those are the lots Jeff. That development is going on the lot north of station place. That parking lot exists today for the buildings on rathgar.

The lot south of station place is also destined for a high rise at some point.

A vacant, seven-storey apartment building under construction in Winnipeg’s West End neighborhood caught fire Tuesday night.

Firefighters responded to the build, located in the 300 block of Young Street, around 5:30 p.m., a Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service platoon chief said, speaking from the scene.

Fire crews arrived to find a flames and smoke billowing from the building, but were able to quickly get the fire under control.

WFPS cleared the scene around two hours later.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation, the platoon chief said.

I've noticed there has been good progress made on this building since the fire. Workers were back on-site only about a week after the fire. It looks like the building will still get completed relatively on-schedule.

200 Portage & Main - false alarm, no re-cladding work is going on (at least right now). sidewalk sheds are all gone, they were only up for the roofing work that was being done.

The projects have been talked about separately for years, and were mashed together by the province's former Progressive Conservative government, which called for bids on a development plan for a joint facility in 2020.

But two premiers and one pandemic later, there has been no public sign of progress, and the New Democrat government that was sworn in last October has not committed to the idea.

Kansas City has a combined Jazz Museum/Negro Baseball League Museum, and it works very well. Both share a building, you pay one fee to see both facilities. It actually works quite well, so I think something similar could work here.
