IIRC that is the same look that was planned as part of the Kidthink thing. Or whatever it was called. The render looks familar though and much better than the half finished look it has now.

Maybe Dollar Tree effectively relocating from Portage to Ellice is the first step in something more happening with the Somerset Building. With such a prominent location next to Canada Life Centre something focused around hospitality like a restaurant/lounge could find a market. The challenge is how could it distinguish itself from the Met and Tavern United.

Well I’ve been working on the St Boniface ER expansion for about a month now. It’s a great project. No parts are at the finishing stage yet though, so nothing really worthwhile to photograph.

Some interesting information: once the project is completed and commissioned in approximately the next 10 months, the existing ER is going to shift gradually over into the new completed ER expansion building. Once the functional transfer is complete, the entire OLD ER is going to be completely gutted and renovated to modern standards to match the new expansion. That next phase will take approximately another 1-2 years of construction and commissioning.

Once things start to look finished I’ll try and capture anything worth looking at. It’s gonna be a shiny new but boring hospital.

the southern last two parcels of land along the rapid transit line at the former fort rouge yard are actively being leveled and prepped seemingly for whatever projects are planned for those sites!

Probably some three or four story apartments with two quadrillion parking spots lol.

yeah i don't have high hopes for what's coming down the pipe for that spot from what's already been built to set the precedence. either way, it's a great location and i'd consider moving there purely for the active transportation options at the doorstep.

Sorry, I may just be misreading the thread but if we're talking about the Fort Rouge Yards, there were supposed two high density buildings at the southern end and , if I recall correctly, a mid to high rise at the northern end. As I don't know which parcels we're talking about, I can't speak to anything but, in any case, that was the plan.

I'm not 100% sure which parcel you are speaking to, but this project is in final planning stages to go at the south end, closer to Jubilee.

Nothing pretty but any new housing is good housing.

There's some other renders available somewhere. It's a bit of a copy of the Stradbrook building that caught on fire. I like that simplicity of both designs.
