-8C with a wind chill of -12 and a mix of sun and clouds. WTF is this cold.

It went down to -13C (wind chill of -20) last night.

Absolutely BRUTAL.
Pretty much the worst anomaly save for Siberia who has a higher standard deviation than here.

And this is after a cold November.

The warmspot was Rockglen, SK at 10.1C.

Warmest low was Sand Heads, BC at 6.3C.

EDIT: Also the snow depth is within 2 cm of the all-time deepest for this day. (we also remember the famous 07-08 winter).

Didn't Montreal get screwed last winter also? I think I remember a long term anomaly that had a blue bubble smack over Montreal.

Winter hasn't really started here yet. We had a shot of wet snow that melted yesterday. Double digits and a rain storm this weekend. Pretty typical of our December's lately. Winter doesn't seem to kick off until January. Not really sure how I feel about it. Would be nice to have a wintery Christmas.

Scariest bus ride to work ever. Absolutely nothing happened but it's stormy here, flurries and blowing snow, and they still go near 50km/hr, which always feels like 100 on a bus. I didn't think we'd stop until we hit something. And now that I've survived I'm going to look forward to these rides in the future haha.

When I first got my saltwater pool, I was quite surprised that pool salt was essentially the same product as table salt. It was even made by Sifto.

Also, pool chlorine made by HTH is the same thing as household bleach made by Clorox or Javex.

so far I've had to scrape my car once for ice and we haven't had a single significant snowfall. Most we've had is 2-3 light dustings in the morning that are gone by 9am.

We haven't had a daytime high below freezing yet either, though we got close at+0.1 degrees on November 28

The last of the leaves on trees didn't really fall until a week ago or so.

We'll have to see when we get our first real snowfall.. increasingly it seems like it doesn't come until Christmas these days.

Beautiful day, it's sunny and already over 9 degrees. Yesterday was sunny with a high 7.7 and low of 1.5.

We've only had one freezing night so far this month, and the two week forecast is all above freezing except a low of -2 on Tuesday night. Not completely unusual though, as this is the time of year when the moderating effects of the Great Lakes are most pronounced.

It is pretty good. Just grab a nugget of salt whilst shovelling to keep your energy up. Don't grab the coloured ones though, might get sick (MonctonRad warned us about this).

After waiting and waiting and waiting for enough snow, and pushing the opening day back 2.5 weeks, Big White is finally opening limited runs today! 69cm Alpine base, with 10cm of fresh snow last night it should be a good day on the mountain.

Down in in the Valley we will see a pretty typical December day, 2c and rain/snow showers this morning then sunshine to finish out the day.
