Wonderful news that we’re going to break 4M this year. Biggest hopes for me for 2024:
- AF goes daily.
- PD announces major expansion especially to South-West USA and ATL with DL codeshare.
- DL and/or AA resume operations from YOW.
- Another international carrier?

Great news no doubt!

What about a daily Vegas flight? There's no way we wouldn't be able to handle that with current demand.

Wow. So basically anything on the east coast won't be possible without some ridiculous routing through YYC or YWG. Although I guess with only 1x daily it was pretty limited anyways.

Well, it's time we all forget WestJet ever existed. Bring on more Porter destinations!

Yes, South-West USA hopes includes LAS. I have no doubt this will come eventually. My family and I are talking about a family trip to California and Las Vegas at some point (2 separate trips). We’re holding off for PD as some of them are totally against using AC and connecting in Toronto (I’m so proud!). Although, if it takes too long, we’ll probably connect with PD and try to make that work.

Also have been looking into California this summer. As it stands, only option for SFO/LAX-YOW through Porter is still SFO/LAX-BOS-YTZ-YOW. Hopefully something changes.

Royal Airforce A400M Atlas inbound to YOW from SLC. Leaving for YHZ after only about an hour on the ground for those interested in this type of aircraft!

This is why AF and PD will be my only choices unless I absolutely have to use something else. If WS is just going to keep cutting from YOW then what’s the point in supporting them. AF has the potential to increase service as well as PD’s obvious future expansion. We are not getting direct anything from AC or WS. AC is using the XLRs as an excuse to restart LHR but we all know it’s their 🞵🞵🞵 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 to route us through YYZ/YUL regardless of demand. I personally refuse to be compliant to this so long as AF is here.

100x this, I'm going to England next month, YOW-CDG-LTN where in the past it was YOW-YYZ(YUL)-LHR on AC. From now on I'm flying AF and PD when possible. Would love to see BA at YOW.

Last September, 6 of us flew YOW-CDG-NCL . Perfect flights. Would only take AF from now on.

There is a train station inside CDG (at terminal 2F I believe) and you can take the Eurostar from there to London St. Pancras. But there is a stopover in Lille.

The CDG train station is between terminal 2D/F and has TGV and Eurostar services. To get to London you'd have to transfer at Lille, as already mentioned.

However, you can also (and I would sooner) take the RER B from CDG into Paris @ Gare du Nord (11 stops, ~25 min) and take the Eurostar from there direct to London. There are almost hourly trains to London from GdN...low risk in case of delay/misconnect. You'll need to eat the RER B fare into Paris (E11.45) but I think it's worth it.

I'm going to Cologne in a bit and I'm doing similarly. Flying AF to CDG, RER B to GdN, then Eurostar direct into Cologne (~3.5 hrs). If Cologne airport didn't 🞵🞵🞵🞵 and AF served it from CDG I'd obviously fly ... but this I find is the next best option.

It appears that AC7705 never made it too far this morning and diverted right back to YOW. https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/JZA7705/history/20231117/1450Z/CYOW/CYOW

Enjoying the Porter non-stop Edm-Ott as we speak. Free wifi, free beer, and no stop in Winnipeg for the win.

Listening to the ATC archive and it was a gear malfunction.

Anybody here used the USA's CBP Mobile Passport Control app for pre-clearance out of YOW? Wasn't available last year from YOW and looks like it is now. Wondering how much it speeds things up.
