WTF is their pricing model?

Four of those things cost $12. 4 pieces/100 grams.

Bjorn Bar charges $3.25 (seems larger than 25g though)

Seems reasonable for a premium offering? Comparing to Save On Foods is neither here nor there. You can find all kinds of similar examples.

2- https://labisebakery.com/ offering canelés - they look good as a special occasion treat.

In other GIM news the Toast & Jam place looks to be on it's last legs already I suppose they underestimated the number of people willing to pay $6 for a jar of jam the size of your thumb

Restaurant in West Van had some patio coverings slashed.

Now, the owner is waiting for a $15,000 insurance claim to be processed, while she grapples with the impact that the highly visible damage is having on the appeal of her business.

They have an insurance claim for 15K for the plastic covers. Those porch curtains aren't cheap but that's crazy.

That was the old Bella Pizzeria. Was this new ownership or part of that split?

Interesting. Is that the same owner of the "Bellagio Cafe" on Main and 15th that was closed most of the year and just opened seasonally, even pre-COVID? Looked like a total front to me.. no way to make money on that kind of operation. It is now an Ayoub's.

I'm not sure whether they're related. That was Bellagio's Gellato. The Bellagio Cafe is on Hornby, and there was a second at the Convention Centre until 2022.

The folks behind Salvio Volpe are opening a new restaurant at Cambie & 17th. Not in the old Biercraft/Tomato Cafe space but in what used to be Max's Garage behind it (Tupper and 17th) .

Wow, I didn't realize that that block was so deep (no lane).

Here's a Google street view showing that new building next door from Tupper St.

I'd love to hear from forumers who work in commercial real estate how the economics of all that work out! Given the refurbishment and new tenants, it doesn't sound like redevelopment anytime soon.

That's what I was wondering about. They're probably dumping a lot of money into a kitchen so I doubt they have a demo clause for at least 10 years?

There's a presentation centre in one of the units but not sure if there's any connection with the developer.

I believe it's the same family that owns/developed the skinny black rental building next door to the south.
