Algonquin Station, Ottawa. Future underground terminus of Line 1, transfers to Barrhaven.

At the 20 second mark, the drone approaches the entrance of the tunnel. The two side tunnels will be storage tracks. Station will be in the middle with a centre platform.

The station will have to head houses. One behind the Algonquin College trades building, and a two storey one for the bus loop (fare paid) with skywalk connecting to the Algonquin Campus.

Valley Line Southeast LRT – Update – Performance Demonstration Testing and Service Commencement

TransEd, the company responsible for the design, build, operations and maintenance of the Edmonton Valley Line Southeast LRT, is pleased to provide an update on the project.

As previously announced, testing identified cables that needed to be replaced to improve long-term system reliability. Today, we are pleased to announce cable replacement is complete, and line-wide train testing has resumed. “Replacement of the cables over the past nine weeks ensures the system will operate safely and reliably over the next 30 years,” says Dallas Lindskoog, TransEd spokesperson.

Concurrent with this upgrade, TransEd has continued to finalize and submit the required documentation for review by the independent certifiers who need to sign off on the system before the line can open for passenger service. In the next few weeks, trains will operate along the entire 13km, mimicking regular passenger service to demonstrate to the certifiers and the City that the Valley Line Southeast LRT is ready to open. We continue to work closely with the City, and more information about the opening date this fall will be provided as final testing and independent certification nears completion.

2021 report on the Gatineau Tramway came out yesterday. Surprise surprise, still recommending tramway for the west end of Gatineau. We've been turning in circle on this one and I can't understand why it took 2 years to release this report.

Feds should be announcing funding for next steps any day now (been hearing the same for years).

Line 2 will likely open within the next 6 months. Issues on Line 1 trains are estimated to be fixed within 2 years, around the time Stage 2 East opens.

Video of Lincoln Fields, on Ottawa's Stage 2 West. Lincoln Fields will be a major bus-train hub for the urban west end. The two platform, three track station will serve as a transfer between outbound Lines 1 and 3, and include washrooms and retail.

Two year project that involves minor upgrades to a diesel main rail line (linger platforms, some double tracking, two infill stations, one new grade separation) and a couple extension, one elevated, one surface/berm. Two years late, at least.

Meanwhile, the four year east extension that is far more complicated, is only six weeks behind.

The City has started the B-Line LRT project, and literally, at the start, the City uncovers the former street car rails from the 1800s! It's funny how, almost 200 years later, the City is building a transit line on top of the former line.

When they were building the LRT in Uptown Waterloo, they uncovered the old corduroy road from when the city was originally settled. It ended up delaying things as they had to bring in archeologists to excavate the road.

So you're saying that track is already laid for the Hamilton LRT? This thing will be rolling in no time!

In all seriousness, this discovery underscores the premise of splitting the high-dollar LRT design-engineering-construction-rolling stock contract that will go out for international tender and the right of way sanitization contract that will just daylight the corridor, relocate utilities, and provide a clean fully-documented corridor for construction. I cannot recall hearing word that this latter contract had been tendered and awarded, so perhaps the unearthing of old HSR rails occurred during pre-construction work?
