Dantes - Alibi club (closed), the entire property is now fenced off and likely to be demolished
Overtime - Sync111 apartments
Is that Alibi Club in the former TD bank building at the corner of 100 St. and Jasper? If so, that building isn't likely to be demolished anytime soon.

Neat, had no idea there was a club in there at one point. I do need to go to that building and check out the Butternut Tree though!

Alibi (formerly Dantes and a string of other failed clubs) is located west of the intersection of Stony Plain Road and 170 St.

I still remember the day that Shark Club called me up (loosely knew them from my time in Van) to go for a tour of Edmonton prior to locating here and I tried to convince them to fill a gap Downtown. In the end they chose the former Dante's and well, that was that.

Update:
The former Cocktail Club has been demolished and a new Lucky Supermarket is under construction in its place. There are 2 other Lucky Supermarket locations in Chinatown and near 137 Ave/127 St.

That was (and still is) an absolutely terrible location. That whole couplet roadway configuration at 170th and Stony Plain is where businesses go to die. Unless there is 'all-directional' access most businesses suffer when you have loop left, back and around to get to it.

Shark Club would have done much better downtown imo, somewhere like Jasper/109 or so.

Built form, I agree, but when it was opened it was in the west party zone, striking distance to the west ed mega clubs, the glory of cowboys and the sadness of satana's.

At the peak there must have been 5,000 people at all those clubs.

Denny Andrew's baby!

I worked for Pattison Outdoor at 107ave/178st when Dante's opened and we used to be regulars there at lunch and apres-work. It was bumpin'.

But yes, SharkClub was looking at Oliver Sq, 109st and even taking over a certain pool hall. Alas.

Are you referring to Metro billiards that was on 106 St and 103 Ave for the longest time?
If so, I find it ironic that they ended up moving to that same area of Stony Plain Road.

Not huge news, but it looks like advertising agency LoKnow has moved its head office from an old building north of MacEwan into the 103 St. Centre. I was checking out their website and it looks like a pretty good local success story as they’ve grown and have offices across the country now in several major cities. Fairly young company too—only started in 2016.

Exciting times for the second site; I've always wanted to see something there.

'The second site is home to one of Edmonton’s oldest Catholic schools, the St. Anthony Resource Centre. The new owner plans to preserve and modify the existing 116-year-old building and utilize the remaining acre of land with the potential to encompass hundreds of new apartment units and a mixed retail component'

Will this result in a new Law Courts Building?

Study on future of Edmonton Law Courts due in October now pushed to spring: Alberta Infrastructure
"As we work through the planning process with Justice, it was determined there was further analysis needed and we anticipate this to be completed in spring 2024."
