OLT Merit Hearing has now been rescheduled for Feb 2024. You got to be kidding! OLT needs to be fixed so appeals are heard promptly and without delays.

Looks like they have given up on the taller LTC proposal to switch to a 3s design sprawled over a larger area. They have also applied to server the parcel from the block likely to make zoning easier without the baggage of the rest of the property.

Still Sierra Construction has done nothing with the factory building itself or the townhouses that would be built on the north edge. It continues to rot away.

And just to add that the zoning is already there, so this is a site-plan application and it will be heard at Council's Planning and Environment Committee meeting on September 11.

Sad to see the amount of vandalism to the old factory building with many of the windows now completely broken out. Sierra Construction has wasted so much time and left this to rot that there may not be anything left to save.

The latest fire in the old factory building plus search for kids.

If Sierra Construction can't redevelop this vacant building maybe they should consider selling it to someone who can. It's been years in their hands since before the pandemic and nothing has happened.

Looks like both appeals may have a settlement now. A one day hearing scheduled for Sept 4th to finalize it has been set.

Some progress on the rear of the property to clear piles of broken brick and concrete. Hopefully the start of the townhouses and the new LTC Home is coming soon.

Construction fencing is now up around this future Extendicare LTC home site. Looks like DGrant Construction will be the general contractor on this project.

Hopefully Sierra Construction gets going on the factory building soon with construction or selling it off to someone else who will redevelop the remainder of the site. The new LTC home will be stuck looking are the rotting hulk of the factory when it opens for residents in 2026.
