This tap card system is abhorrent. I've had multiple failures and I ride the system once or twice a month at most. Combine the failures with the ridiculous password force change and I suspect nobody will be using it within a year. The password force change, incidentally, apparently records your previous six passwords and won't let you re-use any of them. So users will default to "password1" through "password6" or some such iteration.
Abominable development team with absolutely no attention to convenience.

Very odd, I ride as much as you but haven't had nearly the amount of errors using the card (once for sure this year where the reader on the #9 bus didn't work). I also haven't had the forced password change yet, but it's definitely been 90 days since I've created my account, so not sure what's going on there.
That all being said, my experience with Arc has been fine so far and I prefer it to the paper tickets.
