It was a bit more complex at Coal Harbour, as they had to get the housing funding lined up as well, and there was organised opposition to the project.

There will be some opposition to OV as well. Some people don't like the location, despite it being on City plans since the stone ages.

The replacement Listel Hotel and Bosa rental tower was almost certainly approved by the DP Board this week.

For those keeping score, there have now been 9,200 new dwellings proposed under the West End Plan, with 1,600 completed, 1,670 under construction, over 3,500 with an approved development permit but not yet being built, another 980 with approved rezoning, and 1,350 submitted and yet to be approved.

The Development Permit Board has blessed a proposal to replace the Listel Hotel with a union of 174 hotel rooms, & 126 rental homes. Yet this wedding day wasn’t totally cloud free, as they also demanded the look of its podium, & tower be better married together.

Of course, marriage is a two way street, & Jervis between Robson, & its southern laneway will now be as well. This was deemed necessary by the city to accommodate the movement of future coach buses, & because of the expected impact that the Bute-Robson Plaza will have on traffic

I really enjoy 825 Nicola's addition to its side street and this will be a welcome change I think

I guess removing the vehicles entrance from Robson was the thinking behind giving them street access from Jervis. They'll install a new bulb on Jervis at the lane so you can't go any further south.

The applicant shall contact Engineering Services 6 months prior to demolition in order to coordinate removal of public art piece at the corner of Robson St and Jervis St.

provision of traffic calming infrastructure to mitigate the impacts of the traffic pattern change on Jervis Street between Robson and the Rosemary Brown lane that this site is triggering, including:

a. cast in place concrete diverter island on Jervis Street at or on the south side of Rosemary Brown lane;
b. geometric changes at the southwest corner of the intersection of Rosemary Brown Lane and Jervis Street, including new curb and gutter, curb ramp, and road re-construction to centerline;
c. two speed humps in the lane; and
d. changes to regulatory signage as required to accompany the traffic pattern changes.

Real West Enders know a hack to avoid the crowds on Robson (or just switch things up) is to walk down Mary Brown Lane instead of Robson west of Thurlow. It's a little more gritty, more varied topographically, and is pleasantly quiet without the traffic. If one of our resident photographers was to stand in the lane around Jervis and take a photo westward during golden hour, there would be a beautiful picture to be had of the mountains in the distance and the hydro poles marching down the lane.

Activating at least the half block between Robson and Mary Brown Lane is a no brainer. Some of my favourite neighbourhood gems occupy this space, including Breka, Aria, and West End Paint & Hardware, and I've heard good things about Koosoo.

jrdtown, when you were taking that picture, I was on Hornby St. capturing that same moment in my video 7:40

Yesterday, erecting the tower crane.
Did not capture the mast and turn-table install, I was working in South Surrey. Got home and went straight to VAHA Burrard where they were prepping the operator's cab.
Then went home for a snack and nap, returned and they were stringing the hoisting cable on the jib.
Missed the install of the luffing pulley and counter weights due to out of battery power on my Galaxy S8
