That's what I was thinking.
I imagine that many of these Russians have been in the US for quite some time if they could legally cast a vote in our elections. With that said, they probably immigrated here shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union or shortly thereafter. They probably cast a vote for Trump because they remember what it was like living in a communist nation and see some parallels to the American leftist socialist leanings (free this and that, redistribution of wealth, level the playing field etc.). Many immigrants become small business owners and fear that the hard work they put into their business could be taken away at a moments notice and redistributed to the non-working poor.
They probably also remember the Cold War when America and the Soviet Union were arch enemies on the brink of war. The collapse in relations between our countries during the Obama years probably sent their vote towards Trump who was very critical of Obama/Clinton's deteriorating relationship with Russia.
