Philips Arena is used 200+ days a year. I'm not saying the Gulch wouldn't be picked by Amazon, but it's just not that viable for them. South downtown is still sort of wretched and someone spending billions is less likely to gamble on it than something established with a clear path like midtown. The Gulch will make a nice area with a high podium of parking topped by a "Battery ATL" like development over the top and serve the sports facilities well.
