So I was at Glendale Golf Course and saw a sign about Salt Lake City looking into closing 1 golf course out of 4.
I just asked around to find out the 4 courses targeted. (In no order)
1-Glendale
2-Rose Park
3-Nibley
4-Forest Dale
This does not shock me that the city wants to close one of these but according to the Golf Pro's its not for development but for water rights. All though I think development will be the ultimate end.
What course would be the best to close? I would hate to see Forest Dale go it's Utah's first Golf course and the one with the most history. It hosted the greatest golfers back in the 20's through the 50's. but It is only 9 holes and will never expand.
Nibley is not far from Forest Dale and I think it's 18 holes. (Just checked it's only 9) I think that lives on just because there's not course close to it other then Forest Dale.
The two I think will get closed would be Rose Park and Glendale. Both are in less then desirable Salt Lake Neighborhoods. Rose Park has been targeted before.
Would anyone cry for the lose of any of these courses? Other then housing, what would be a nice development for the land?
