My bet is that it will be done by 2017. They are finding a developer with the flexibility of multiple lots. I think this will come together pretty fast now. I bet a year from now we will be where Portland is, ready with a design and location awaiting final city council approval.
By January of 2018 we will have the new terminal at the SLC Int. Airport open, a Convention Center Hotel, and the Eccles Performing Arts Center. All the little check boxes will be ticked off on our mid-sized city to do list. Then in the next decade we can hopefully get ourselves an NFL or MLB team
. We're on course for 3,000,000 people by 2015. By 2025 we'll probably have 3,500,000+; it could happen.
