I went to have a closer look at the Shyloe in yesterday... I don't know how they're going to make that look like a new hotel for $10 million... It needs a lot of work... It looks even worse up close.

First thing they need to do is cover up that hideous textured cinderblock. Then they need to remove all the gold balcony banisters... They should've remove those along time ago when the sliding glass doors were removed. And they should cut away the curve from the old balconies and make the building flush... Put in some nice floor-to-ceiling windows... Closing the emergency stairs... Do something dramatically different with the elevator... From what I've read all of the elevators sucking need to be replaced... The lower reoof line needs to be totally redone

On top of all the exterior work that needs to be done to make it look like a new hotel... I imagine that a lot of interior work needs to be done as well.

I really do hope that they get rid of the external HVAC unit... and put full-sized windows back in.... I wonder what they did for HVAC before the sliding doors were removed??? Maybe there is an internal system it could be retrofitted... Or maybe they just didn't have any HVAC back then :/

The neon lights have not been turned on in a week or two.. But they have not been removed yet :/
