City West Project With 640 Units to Break Ground in 2014

Quote:
Things are going to get more crowded in City West next year. After recently completing a $60 million 210-unit apartment complex called 1111 Wilshire, Vancouver, Wash.-based developer Holland Partner Group is planning to break ground on another residential project.

Tom Warren, chief operating officer of development at Holland Partner, said work will begin next year on a $125 million complex with 600 apartments on a block bounded by Wilshire Boulevard, Lucas Avenue and Bixel and Sixth streets.

The developer purchased the property from Good Samaritan Hospital in 2007. Plans call for transforming a currently vacant 1923 medical office building at Sixth and Lucas into 42 residential units, and then building another structure with 600 apartments, Warren said.
