yeah, noticed one each of these "funtional" traffic lights pop up at main and market right in front of city hall, as well as one at portage and notre dame. looks horrible inter-mixed with the high-profile heritage streetscaping of both streets. there's also one up at vaughn and portage that has irked me for years! might be completely a safety protocol, but there is something to be said about continuity.

one thing i have appreciated, although, are the new stainless steel lights standards used along edmonton between graham and portage and along the newly-completed reconstruction of fort between graham and portage. hope these are the new standard downtown.
