I have no hard evidence, but from everything I've heard the "Nerd Bird" was always quite full. When the news came out that AA was cutting the service, many were shocked because it didn't make sense. Alaska Airlines wouldn't pick up this route if they didn't think it would be profitable, and they wouldn't start flying out of ABIA just to get name recognition. I don't they would fly out of any market for that reason, but if so it would probably be a major airport like DFW of IAH.
