in the 30-60 story range of new towers, I would say that in teh next ten years? Denver should expect about a 8-15 new towers in that range, and in the 10-25 story range over the next ten years? It does, I'm telling you Denver is really starting to come together, and I know that everyone thinks I am "crazy" but I honestly believe that Denver will push for the 2018 Winter Olympics!!!
Especially if the 08' Dem National Convention being hosted in this city pays off and is a success!!! Mark my words, it's going to happen, the population of today's Denver Metro area is a more open and welcoming group vs the 1970's population IMHO. Excitedly concur with you blm3034L!fe, but I would raise the numbers for the metro areas. Examples of construction like Fitzsimons and all that has gone on in the Tech center, and as Glow mentions, projects like Kent, I think we are just seeing the tip of the iceberg. Depending on where people lived originally has helped convince them somewhat of where they want to live when they eventually move. Plus, not everyone wants true downtown/city life, especially as they age. Some of my older friends love living in the new residential areas of the Tech center as it is just easier for those who still want to drive or have limited abilities. Downtown is going to need an actual grocery market close to the mall and basic facilities for the elderly to actually obtain residents who are spending their fortunes on projects like the Kent. However, we may see such amenities arrive with the new structures. Winning the 2018 Winter Olympics would mean that people from all over the world would want to come to Denver – I believe we have achieved that status already and that appeal will only increase by the time the biding comes.
