86%.........WOW! I don't think anyone, very much including myself, saw Carney winning with such an overwhelming mandate. This is good for the Liberals as a slim margin vote could have divided the Party.

I was very impressed with his win nearly as much as I was very unimpressed with his acceptance speech. I understand his fluency in French is not great but from what I saw, his English oratory skills aren't much better. Even when he tried the occasionally levity he came across as stiff and uncomfortable. He really did look like he was talking to a conference room of bankers..............his lack of political experience was on full display.

As for the election call, I think he will do it immediately. He could call it right now as you can call an election without Parliament sitting EXCEPT, from what I understand, he can't now because the Liberals asked for the Parliament to be prorogued by the GG and hence he cannot call an election until Parliament resumes on March 24th.

We are now effectively in an election and now it's definitely going to be a hard fought and interesting. If Carney, however, wants to be victorious, he better work on his oratory skills because I found him quite painful to listen to and unassuring and PP will make mincemeat out of him in the debates.
