You realize Carney isn't part of the current liberal party right? A consultant for Trudeau because of his experience. He's also much closer to center left than anyone else in the running. You just want PP in power they couldn't have put anyone forward that you would have approved of. Also he made a lot of important changes to the bank of England and there is nothing negative about him I can find so the onus is on you if you think he was so hated during his tenure in the UK.
