I am not much of a NIMBY supporter, but in this case, I agree with them. This is a more "rural" area and those who bought property here more than likely expected it to stay that way. Had this backfilling involved regular townhouses or duplexes, I think it would work for all. But to be surrounded by 6-floor buildings (particularly the house in the upper left corner), I would be all kinds of NIMBY.

When you buy property in the downtown core, you have to accept radical redevelopment change, but when you buy this far from it, there is a reasonable expectation that it will remain, at the very least, light residential.
