I was browsing around on the MID site, and came across this map of the Harrisville Logistics Park (SW corner of the TCH/Highway 15 interchange), currently under construction:

The street grid id unchanged from previous site plans, but it is interesting to note that the streets are now named. The main east-west street to the north is called Aviateurs St., which is probably because it will eventually connect up with the main road leading into the airport terminal on the other side of Highway 15.

The other really interesting thing is that the vast majority of the lots in this new logistics park are pre-sold. In this first phase of the development, only eight out of 25 lots are still on the market. They are only in the very early stages for site prep for this development. This is really impressive!

Good find. These lots are highly visible from Veterans Hwy and directly across from the airport. No doubt very desirable for many businesses. I’m sure we’ll see lots of construction on this stretch as soon as the street network is built.

Hopefully the provincial government won’t wait too long to complete the airport interchange but not holding my breath on that one.

Home Hardware Elmwood group posted this short video on Instagram today with the caption "We’ve been working on something lately"
https://www.instagram.com/reel/CvcWX6oN1Tf/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Video is quite short but it hints of a new store being announced.

Well, they were supposed to be an original tenant of the Granite Centre. I wonder if they are finally going to take the plunge?

The old Irving on McLaughlin Drive has fencing around it. This appeared a few days ago and today I saw that the building has been torn down. The canopy for the pumps is still there as is the car wash.

New 129 unit apartment building proposal for 157-167 McLaughlin Drive:

Locator Map

Site Plan

Renderings

Quote:
Conditional Use and Variance Application submitted by Amico Construction Inc. on behalf of Seville Property Group Ltd., 157-167 McLaughlin Drive, Moncton NB (PIDs 00773135, 00773036, 00773044 & 70673934), File Numbers: 23MC-45199 & 23MV-45200

The City of Moncton received a Conditional Use and Variance Application to construct a six-storey apartment building on McLaughlin Drive.

The subject properties are currently zoned R3 (Multiple Unit Dwelling). The proposal requires the following applications:
1. Conditional Use Application
a. To permit an apartment building in the R3 zone;
2. Variance Application
a. To increase the height of the main building from 18m to 21.46m;
b. To reduce the landscaping buffer in the side yard from 3m to 1.29m; and
c. To increase the parking lot surface area from 35% to 37.8%
This building is essentially an architectural clone of a pre-existing apartment building on Morton, currently undergoing the final phase of construction. This will be the second building in the complex. These two buildings will essentially surround Emmanuel Baptist Church on the SE corner of McLaughlin/Morton.

The mystery construction site on Chief Noah Augustine Drive in the First Nations industrial park adjacent to the TCH and off Harrisville Blvd is apparently for a new HQ building for Greenfoot Energy Solutions. There is apparently a new mini tower crane on site (I can not personally confirm this as I have not driven by recently), and, the building is rumoured to be four storeys tall.

Greenfoot is a fairly substantial company. They are nationwide, with 12 branches in five provinces. If they are a growing company, they might need a substantial HQ building.

They will have great visibility from passing traffic on the TCH.

Can confirm that there is a mini crane is there. I drove past it last night.

Also in this area of town, the Irving on McLaughlin Drive is completely torn down, including the canopy for the gas pumps, the foundation and the tanks are out of the ground.

This apartment building is planned for the old Irving location on McLaughlin:

Traffic is getting worse through this corridor for sure, especially with the new school and traffic lights at Hennessey. Can only imagine it'll continue as Granite Drive develops and these new apartment buildings come online, not to mention a possible TCH interchange. I hope the city is at least thinking about how to improve flow through this rapidly growing area... Another option connecting Mclaughlin to Morton is essential....

In some ways, a new TCH interchange at McLaughlin might actually improve traffic congestion by providing another point of egress. Also, buildout of the "Vision Lands" if (when) it occurs will provide additional cross connectivity to Mapleton Road.

There’s a mini tower crane up on the south side of the TCH just east of the Harrisville blvd. interchange. Anyone know what’s going there? The foundation seems quite large.
