By my count there are now 45 buildings 15 storeys or over proposed or under construction in Downtown Hamilton.
A lot of them may not happen, but I would say at least 25 of them have a decent chance of happening.
There are currently 10 of them under construction, all 30+ storeys. Hamilton currently has three 30+ storey buildings downtown for comparison - so it will increase the number of tall buildings downtown by over 300%.
I’m aware of another 5 buildings or so gestating that will likely be applications soonish as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if the number goes past 50 next year, though Cobalt will finish soon and take two off the list.
There are a bunch of shorter buildings proposed and under construction as well, of course, and a bunch more 15+ storey projects outside of downtown.
