No kidding! It looks like it's a shot from the East, like a sunset shot with the mountains, but it's a moonrise from the west with clouds in the east. Absolutely incredible capture.

A new photo I took late last week in Calgary during the full moon.
At first I thought that was a sunset in Vancouver. Crazy! The cloud looks like a mountain and the Bow and PetroCanada blend together in silhouette to kind of look like ShangriLa. Funny enough it was only Jamieson place that clued me in right away. Most shots looking east usually include EAP.

I thought it was Vancouver too, then I saw the diagrid on the Bow. Great capture!

I've had a few people say that. I've never attempted such a tight shot of the city from the angle but I'm happy it worked out with the moon in such a perfect spot. I snapped a few with EAP showing but I liked this perspective better.
Here's a view from the same location looking further into the south of Downtown Calgary. I really wish the Calgary tower would have been visible though!
Prat was that shot last night or the night before? The moon has been very yellow the last couple nights. Glad someone was there to capture it in such an amazing way.
Edit: It's unusual how the edges of the moon ripple in this picture. I didn't think it would the same way as the sun does.
