Ok...but not a really convincing argument beyond "I don't like Pollievere"
have you noticed the polls changing? The burden of proof is on the guy who lost a 27 point lead...has nothing to do with my opinion of Pierre.

Greens aren't an environmental party anymore...they had a place before it was common discourse, but they have lost the plot and are irrelevant now.....

Yup, not one Carnage-supporter has addressed his silence on his willingness to cut back on the 140k public sector jobs the Liberals created since 2015, yet they bitch about P.P being in parliment most of his career as opposed to being destructive keynesian central banker who facilitated a massive upwards transfer of wealth through negative real rate policy.

Super-dovish keynesian central banking is cronyism , not real private sector experience. Carney is the architect of the housing crisis through his decade addiction to negative real rates.

Ask people in the UK about their energy bills skyrocketing under Carneys net zero program

Putin and Qatar will love to see a weakened Canadian natural resource sector under Carney.

Don't complain when you vote in Carnage and wake up in 2029 with a CAD worth $0.40 USD, double digit inflation and 1 bedroom Toronto condos going for $800,000 . And dont complain when he enhances CMHC coverage and offers bailout loans or debt jubilees for people who buy 'green smart-home' McMansions , courtesy of more printed money/inflation

Any bad that comes from him serving will be completely deserved by the arrogant people who voted him in.

Unions have proven to be very beneficial, especially in today's age, where the oligarchs are taking control of everything, and curtailing workers rights, salaries, and quality of life. If anything, we need more unionised workplaces.

Unless, of course, you want the Elon Musks and Jeff Benzos of the World to make all of us indentured workers.

So the economy is going to tank at the same time as Toronto's real estate is going to go through the roof?

Makes a lot of sense

Weakened compared to what? I think you left Trump out of the list of dictators who would like to see Canada weakened.

Why do you bring up Qatar of all places all the time?

It depends how you measure economic growth.

Under Carney headline GDP will only nominally increase due to higher unskilled immigration, inflation, new part time/gig work and new public sector jobs but per capita median GDP will fall.

Yes, it will be the result of more Quantitative Easing and net zero restrictions on building, putting upwards pressure on housing.

Investors will sell off energy stocks and pile into real estate .

The polls have more to do with the opinion of Justin Trudeau.

Ditto PP.
Qatar sponsors Al Jazeera which smeared P.P, it"s in Qatars and Putins best interest to weaken Canadas energy sector so that they can charge premiums to European and Mediterranean countries for o&g

Moreover Qatar also sponsors antisemitic boycott/divest/sanction "activists" who put on masks and terrorize peaceful families in my neighbourhood, often during Shabbat.

lol. Ok. We won’t complain.

I love it when I hear cons complaining about how the liberals have killed the resource sector and oil in particular. Complete ignorance of the facts.

This is the kind of head in the sand belief that is sinking the Cons.

If they don’t wake up and realize that this election is all about Donald Trump they are destined to lose.

Median sales price for a 1br condo right now is $600,000, so taking into account 40% currency devaluation it would actually be a market correction.

I don't think there's much appetite now for massive public service cuts, but yes - Carney being a one trick pony is cause for concern and combined with some of the language used thus far in his campaign suggests that the next four years are likely going to be much like the last 10 years, except we'll also be locked in a trade war with the USA. Hopefully we get some policies during the election that would suggest otherwise.

Here you go. The federal Liberals have been reducing head count in the federal public service for several months.

The Union has its perspective. That said, it sounds like it is targeted.

If your suggesting Carney has to "real private sector" experience you do know he had a senior leadership role in a major publicly traded investment fund that focused on the green agenda. Early on before going to the Bank of Canada he worked for Goldman Sask. You can't get more free market capitalism that wall st investment banking and global investment funds.

On Carney, smart as he is, I suspect he'll eventually fade out, as reality kicks in. Here's some criticism of Carney from British trader and economist Gary Stevenson (for a different angle), that kinda shows how out of touch Carney can be (as part of that mainstream):

It's really about time all OECD countries started talking about a wealth tax.

Domestically, the biggest target is real estate and we could probably pillage a substantial portion of realized real estate gains without affecting anyone's standard of living. Not sure anyone of the current crop of political leaders has the cojones to go after this, least of all Mark Carney.

Tell me, LPC voters, how four of the big Canadian banks who recently opted to abandon Carneys "brilliant" NZBA net zero nonsense are just a bunch of chuds?

Well we have a new and much smaller cabinet and I think that is a sign to come in terms of how Carney intends to govern. He will not be the spendthrift that Trudeau was and will reign in our deficits and bloated civil service.

He has gotten rid of the gender equality of the Cabinet but is still pretty much even at 13 men and 11 women. Most notable is that there are now just 2 cabinet ministers west of Thunder Bay and none in Ab/Sk/PEI. Conversely he did add a post from London. Not a major one but at least he acknowledges that not everyone in Ontario lives in the GTAH. Ontario had 16 cabinet posts and all but 2 where from the GTAH and none from KW/Nia/Lon/Win. I think this shows how he intends to win the election much like Trudeau's father................sweep Ont/Que/AC and just let the Western Canadian chips fall where they may.

It will still be a race but the clear loser in either a Tory or Liberal gov't will be the NDP as much of the surge in Liberal support has been due to the plunge in the NDP. Singh, by not bringing down Trudeau when he had the chance, has taken the NDP down to near irrelevance and it's a fate they justly deserve.
