Avellaneda is the municipal seat of Avellaneda county. The municipality is the most important industrial hub in the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires and, although most industries are concentrated in other locations within the county, Avellaneda has several small industries and companies. In addition, it is one of the metropolitan cities with the highest number of highrises.
The city is divided into Avellaneda Centro and Crucecita. It is possible that Crucecita will be officially elevated to a city in the future. |
