Mount Hope is a rural neighborhood in Hamilton, located south of the Upper Mountain, about halfway between Hamilton's urbanized area and Haldimand County.
Mount Hope originally was part of Glanford Township in Wentworth County. Glanford Township amalgamated with Binbrook Township in 1974 to form Glanbrook Township. Mount Hope became part of the City of Hamilton in 2001, when all of the 7 municipalities of Wentworth County merged into Hamilton.
The old Glanford Township Hall, on Homestead Drive. The town hall was built in 1904, and served that function through an amalgamation of Glanford and Binbrook Townships into Glanbrook Township, until the township was amalgamated with the City of Hamilton. It now functions as a library.
Mount Hope Community Christian Reformed Church, on Homestead Drive. The church was built in 1876.
The Glanford Curling Club, on Homestead Drive. The curling club was established in 1894, with the current building constructed in 1959.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, on Airport Road southeast of Hamilton's airport. The museum was established in 1972, when four friends pooled their money and moved their collection of planes to the airport in 1972. The current structure was built in 1996.
Mount Hope is home to John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport, which goes by the airport code of YHM.
The airport opened in 1940 as the Mount Hope Airport. From 1940 until the end of World War II, it was the home of the Royal Canadian Air Force Station Hamilton. It remained a reserve base after World War II, until the reorganization of the Canadian military allowed for the closure of the base in 1964.
The airport underwent an extensive expansion in the 1980s, being completed in 1986. Included in the expansion was the air terminal building in its current format.
