Cambria, CA, and Tori Amos

I've posted pictures of Cambria, CA before on here... but I thought I'd do another photo dump of it.

For my partner's birthday weekend, we went up to Cambria (pop. 5,678 as of the 2020 Census) and spent 2 nights/3 days there, and went into Paso Robles for a Tori Amos concert. Photos taken Aug. 27-29, 2026. We love us some Central California Coast! It was cloudy and very cool in Cambria; much different and very much a relief for us since the Los Angeles area has been going through weeks of very hot temperatures, even at night---and it was hot when we got back! It was only in the 50s-60s Fahrenheit in Cambria, whereas in Los Angeles it's been in the 90s and 100s, with lows falling only into the lower 70s and upper 60s. The sun in Cambria would break through occasionally and then disappear, creating a different set of moods and atmosphere through our stay there. And of course the fruits and veggies just have that extra burst of flavor when eating on the central coast of California! Mmm, mmm.

So, without further ado...

We happened to catch the lunar eclipse. We didn't realize it was gonna happen, we hadn't been paying attention to news about it or anything.

We hiked in an area that contains one of only 4 or 5 groves of Monterey Pines left in the world, or something like that.

Dinnertime. Cambria is known for its olallieberries...

In the past, we've had olallieberry pies here. Along with this bread, they had olallieberry jelly. YUM.

Nitt Witt Ridge. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitt_Witt_Ridge

If anyone is familiar with Huell Howser, years ago, he did an episode or segment on Nitt Witt Ridge.

That's all, folks! I leave you with a Tori Amos song.
