Interesting Facts/Records (in own words):

Built by the U.S. government as the centerpiece for the 1974 World's Fair as the U.S. Pavillion, the structure is defined by a 150-foot central mast and an extensive cable-net canopy structure covered with vinyl.

Following the world’s fair, weather damage forced the removal of the vinyl covering, leaving the distinctive steel skeleton, which came to be one of Riverfront Park's most recognizable landmarks.

In 2019, the structure saw a $24M+ restoration which transformed it into an open-air event space with an elevated catwalk and LED light shows; it was later renamed the Gesa Pavillion in 2025.
