TRENTON made, I took

This is a quick set of <20 photos from an afternoon stop in Trenton, NJ last summer. I was only there a couple hours.

First, the mandatory landmark, the big sign on the bridge: "TRENTON MAKES THE WORLD TAKES," visible from the Amtrak's NE Corridor trains as they pass, and from a parallel highway. I've never actually managed to get a good photo of it, so just for good order here's one from an acquaintance of mine. All other photos in the thread are mine:

There. Now you get the thread title. It would've been unthinkable not to reference that.

They do seem to love an inspirational sign in Trenton.

Trenton's Amtrak station. I really got the color wrong on this entire photo set. Oh well.

Inside the very workmanlike train station

Thanks for looking! Bye!

ah yes, the enigmatic Central New Jersey. Not the NYC suburbs, not the Philly suburbs (close) and not Southern NJ.

I thought it looked a bit Italian, and then I thought it looked a bit French. But it's not Napoli, or Napoleon, it's the capital of New Jersey, not even Europe.

Nice pictures! Trenton can be pretty scruffy and rough, even Downtown, but it has some nice buildings.

Nice pics but LOVE this sign - any chance you have a more detailed shot of the sculpture/plaque at the top?

Not me, but you can see it very clearly in this photo by Flickr user Visual Raconteur.
