Lightbulb Public outdoor chandeliers: Who's got 'em?

Outdoor chandeliers are a relatively rare urban design gimmick feature that can add an interesting spark of extra to a place. I like them.

In my 25 years posting on SSP I don't recall ever seeing a thread about them, so by god let's do it.

Share your public outdoor chandeliers! Any city you know that's got one, post a few pictures of it. To qualify, it must be 1) a light fixture, 2) somehow suspended from a high elevation, 3) above a location that the public can pass under and see it from below. We're not talking sconces here; we're talking chandeliers. You know what that means. Please restrain yourself to no more than about 3 photos per chandelier.

The first one of these I ever saw was the Playhouse Square Chandelier in Cleveland's Theater District. Pretty sure I saw it in a photo thread here at SSP (most likely by Mayday), and then made a point to see it when visiting.

One was recently built in DC along the Washington Channel waterfront

Providence has La Pigna in Federal Hill, but I don't think this really counts. It gets dressed up in lights for different Catholic saints' festivals and for all of Christmas, but it's not a true year-round light fixture. It's an arch with seasonal lighting.

Back in the 1960's, the merchants on Petticoat Lane, in downtown KC, hung massive crowns at the intersections, which kinda resemble chandeliers. Before my time but oldtimers remember them fondly -

Not a permanent fixture, but Beverly Hills has chandeliers on Rodeo Drive during the X-mas season:

Do outdoor shopping malls count? The Americana at Brand in Glendale, CA has a permanent chandelier:

Christ, I make one petty comment and...a thread pops up.

I still got it, whippersnappers!

But fine, I'll play along. Cincinnati has had public outdoor chandeliers since 2012. As The Queen City, it's fitting to have it grace the nearby streetcar, as you can see with the hilarious sign in the background of this terrible photo:

Columbus may not have a traditional, tacky chandelier like the rest of you bitches but we do have a Japanese artist-inspired bird's nest "sculpture" thingie that acts like a Temu EPCOT Center-version of a light display above a yuppified street.

It's pretentiously called The Current.

In my 28 years of posting on SSP, I've had more chances than most to post a thread about outdoor chandeliers but even I think it's such a silly gimmick

It may be silly but it does bring a smile to most faces, like when I saw Cleveland's chandelier for the first time.

for a gimmick its a hell of a lot better than the ghetto/cheapskate euro hanging umbrellas trend.

I think anything colourful or lit up adds to a street

Lord knows North American cities could use anything to soften the sterility feel we've created.

This one is in Vancouver BC. It's supposed to light up, descend and spin at certain times; so I waited at the appointed time, but nothing happened.

I live next door and it still lights up but as they are adding bike lanes (and signals) to the deck it is not currently spinning. There is a notice on one of the pillars advising of the temporary outage.

Don't think we have any in London, outside Xmas season. Closest we get is Slingsby Place, an alleyway revamped in Covent Garden

Thanks. It didn't light up at 9PM, I waited an extra 15 minutes as well. I didn't see the notice, but not a problem, I like the pics I got anyway.
