DENVER | TRAINS (and more)

Cirrus in the West Series!
See them all: Denver, Boulder, Santa Fe, Taos, Southern Colorado, Kansas City, Saint Louis.

I went on a big road trip out west this summer. Denver, Southern Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas City, Saint Louis. Threads are coming. Denver first.

I'll level with you, this thread is mostly RTD transit stuff. There's a bit of city further down. You get what you get. Let's start at Union Station.

Regional rail:

Light rail:

Actually I didn't have a lot of time in Denver, and aside from Union Station didn't get many pictures. Here are a few of downtown:

A bit of time along East Colfax:

Annnnd really that's it. Stay tuned for bigger threads about other places.

Bon voyage

Beautiful and open air station, but it is interesting that there are single tracks that back in and out instead of going through, which suggests low capacity.

It's funny seeing "Scooter Must Use Bike Lane" sign. Maybe we need more of those signs. Scooters taking over everywhere now.

A city that definitely punches above it's weight. Union Station is gorgeous and I love the connections they've made to the Platte from downtown.

I like the transit focus for your thread, nothing wrong with a theme!

Nice pictures! I don't really think of Denver as a train city, since it's out on its own on the edge of the Great Plains. I guess a connection with the other Front Range cities would make sense, but I can't see much activity into Wyoming or Montana or the Dakotas or something.

Denver is a stop on the California Zephyr, Amtrak's San Francisco-Chicago route.

Great pics, Cirrus. I really enjoyed visiting Denver both times I've been there. Definitely punches above its weight, as has already been said.
