TORONTO | 200 Queens Quay West | 71 storeys

200 Queens Quay West

Nice bit of of colour/texture on the waterfront, to replace the (much-despised) massive parking garage blight presently on site.

The 71 storey tower is guess-timated around 240 metres or so.

Toronto condo market + Canadian economy means that we should be skeptical of any proposal of this scale for now. I doubt this happens.

We're not missing out on much considering this design is so lacklustre

Demolition of the parking structure has begun, doesn't mean the condos will ever be built.

According to the developer, the sales are there. There's also a major non market housing component suggesting the development is going to be included in any of the municipal, provincial, federal housing accelerators.

This one is very likely going ahead not long after the site is prepped for construction

A rare sight: Ground broken for Toronto's 60-storey Q Tower condo

[qutoe]Lifetime Developments and DiamondCorp are advancing toward the construction of a rare development in Toronto these days. Q Tower is a 60-storey, 980-unit condominium on the site of a former parking garage at 200 Queens Quay W.

The 1.248-acre site was acquired from Canada Lands Company for $100 million in February 2020 when the Crown corporation realized there were better uses for the prime downtown location.

Sales for Q Tower kicked off in November 2023 at the Real Sports Bar & Grill. Close to 70 per cent of the units have been sold.

“We're very fortunate to be in a position today where we've achieved enough sales to allow us to get our construction financing to allow us to start construction and to allow us to commit to a delivery date, which will be at the end of 2029 to early 2030,” Brown said. [/quote]
