The forum posting guidelines posted in Current Events also pertain to this section as well (and the rest of the forum, too). While we do not have a link to those rules here in this section, we would like to remind forumers that those rules apply here as well:
Current Events Thread Posting Guidelines (Updated)
Quote:
When posting the article, please post or quote the article in accordance with the Article Posting Guidelines... Users will note that we no longer post full articles, and have shifted to using 'best fair use practices' when posting copyrighted text.
|
'Best fair use practices' constitute posting maybe
2 or 3 paragraphs from the article.
In addition to the Current Events section, we will begin enforcing this rule in this section as well.
It's not difficult for people to click on a link, so please do not think you're burdening anyone by only posting a few paragraphs from a link.
If the article is behind a paywall we may give the poster some slack and let him/her post above the length guidelines. But when you do that, please still try to post as little from the article as you can - focus just on the important points you want to discuss or bring to people's attention. You can also write your own brief summary of any important points you want to highlight, above or below the article's link.
Thank you.
